Look Skinnier in 3 Days
So you have something important to go to in 3 days and you want to look great. The only problem is you haven’t been doing so well with your diet and maybe you aren’t exercising. As a result you have a few extra pounds and you’re wanting to look and feel much thinner. I am here to help. These are all tips that I have personally tried. I am not a physician or a professional. These are just ideas that I have done and seen results. There are plenty of crash diets out there but that’s not what I’m going to be talking about. I want you to look and feel skinnier in 3 days the HEALTHY way.
This day is all about nutrition. Every tip under Day 1, I want you to do throughout the next 3 days. Focus on cutting out carbs, sodium and sugar as much as you can. Lean meats and vegetables are your friends and don’t forget the water!
Drinking lots of water will not only help flush out the toxins, it will also make your skin glow. Drinking about a gallon of water a day will help normalize your hydration levels. To make your water even better, add lemon. Lemon aids in digestion and detoxification.
You can even keep drinking coffee and tea! Drinking black coffee helps you burn calories. It’s the added sugar and cream that makes it bad. So for the next 3 days, just stick with black coffee. As far as tea, I highly recommend the Yogi Detox tea. Drink a few cups a day up until your big day and your body will slowly detox. The first time I drank it, I noticed a 2 lb. difference after just a few days. While this is more than likely toxins and water weight, it will still make you look less bloated on your big day which is what we’re aiming for. It also has a smell and taste that I love.
Avoid alcohol at all costs! It causes the most bloating. Especially beer.
Salt is what makes your body bloat. So for the next 3 days, try your best to limit it. An example of some foods that are high in sodium are:
Sauces and salad dressing
You can actually lose weight pretty fast if you add more fiber to your diet. The reason being is that fiber keeps us “more regular”, which helps us not to bloat. Some foods to add to your diet the next few days are:
Go for a Walk
Try and do at least a 30 minute walk a day . For better results, try one walk in the morning and one at night. If you can run, do that instead.
On Day 2 you should still be eating healthy and walking as much as possible. I’ve added some extra tips in there to help detox your body and also give the illusion that your body is thinner.
Take a Detox Bath
Epson Salt is the more common name for magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, It has many health and cosmetic benefits. It can reduce the appearance of cellulite and make you healthier and fitter. Take a detox before bed before you go to sleep. This will release toxins, detox your body and promote good sleep. To take a detox bath follow these instructions:
1. Fill up your tub with very warm water. As warm as you can stand without hurting yourself.
2. Add Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) to your water. Doing this will raise the level of magnesium in the water. Sulphate washes toxins and helps in the creation of protein in the brain tissue and joints. For children up to 60 pounds, add half a cup.
For children from 60 to 100 pounds add one cup.
For those weighing more than 100 pounds add two cups of magnesium sulfate.
3. Add 1 to 2 cups of baking soda. Mix up the bath with your hand.
4. Add ginger tea or minced ginger. This step is not mandatory but if you do, it will raise your body temperature, which will help you eliminate more toxins through your sweat. Do not add more than a third of a cup.
5. Try and soak in the bath for at least 20 minutes. The first 20 minutes your body will release the toxins and after that your body soaks up the minerals. So for the most benefits, I would recommend 40 minutes but 20 would be fine.
You can also add essential oils to make your bath smell nice.
Drink plenty of water before getting in the bath and after your bath.
Bring a bottle of water to sip on so you don’t get dehydrated.
Have a cool towel on hand to cool your head and face as you soak.
A salon spray tan or an at home tan blends in all your bodies imperfections like cellulite, stretch marks, acne. Having a tan also has a contouring effect that will make you look skinner. If you can afford to get a spray tan then that’s a great option. If not though, I highly recommend St. Tropez self tanner. For Christmas last year I got the St. Tropez Self Tanner Starter Kit. It came with the classic mousse (which is the tanner) an applicator mitt that helps you get the mousse on more evenly and a prep lotion that will prevent your tan from fading. The best part about St. Tropez is the color looks natural and doesn’t have a bad smell. I use it pretty much all year round and always get compliments about my skin.
Tighten Up Your Face
To get rid of the puffy and dull looking skin, I recommend making a coffee mask. You just need:
1 tbsp. of coffee powder
1 tbsp. of honey.
Mix the ingredients and rub on your face in a circular motion. Keep on your face for about 25 minutes. When you wash it off, your skin should look less tired and puffy.
I really want you to eat light. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. Try to have a few small meals throughout the day. A salad with lean meat would be a good choice. Again, stay away from sodas and alcohol, they are not your friends! If you are using the St. Tropez tanner, it would be ok to use again today as well. Just make sure it’s blended into your skin naturally.
Take an Anti-gas or Bloating Tablet
These can be found at almost every grocery store or pharmacy. Just looks for bottles that say anti-gas or anti-bloating.
Show Skin on Top
Showing skin on your top, especially if the clothing is V-neck, will make you appear thinner because it diverts the attention from your stomach and legs. It also makes your body look more proportionate.
Wear Some Sexy Stilettos
Shoes that have a heel of at least 2 inches make your legs appear longer and thinner. Wearing high heels also gives your butt a lift usually makes you have better posture. Who doesn’t want that?
Fix Your Posture
You probably don’t think you have a posture issue but if someone were to take a candid picture of you standing or sitting you’d probably be mortified. When we slouch, our belly sticks out, making us appear much larger. Focus on standing tall with your stomach in.
Wear What You Feel The Best In
If you KNOW you are going to be miserable in stilettos, don’t wear them. If you are a fun girl who loves to mix and match colors, do that. What’s the point in looking thinner if you do not feel good about yourself? Confidence really does go further than you’d think. If you feel beautiful and confident, you will come off as beautiful and confident.
This might be the oldest trick in the book but that’s because it works. Wearing black, tricks the eye and gives the illusion of a smaller silhouette. However you do not need to wear an all black outfit. If your legs are your problem area, black pants will work and look thinner on top a black shirt. Just whatever you do, do not wear bright colors over your problem areas if you are trying to appear thinner.
